I have many secret inspirational influences that I keep hidden away and only share with my most trusted confidants. But my amazingly talented friend Adam Osgood turned me onto this one, so I can’t claim it and keep it hidden like the others: The Sartorialist is filled with captivating photographs of real people wearing beautiful clothing in day to day life. The images have a magic of their own, a little different form the usual magic that I dream about and incorporate into my work, this is real life. The images are truly breathtaking.
I want to take many of these characters and place them into my paintings, but until then, you must see the gorgeous work Adam has already done with this inspiration.

Ooooh, I think I might be in love with that website.
I love seeing real people wearing funky clothes that actually *work* in real life! (Though is it just me or does s/he happen to find only beautiful people wearing funky clothes?)

Of course it has to be mostly Paris for the style. I’ve often wanted to stop people on the street and ask to take their photo for style reasons. That must be fun seeing the reactions in and of themselves.
In regards to froggy’s comment, if you look closely I don’t think all the people are so typically beautiful. I think his photography makes them all beautiful though. Photography done well has a magic of doing that.

ohh nice! sometimes i also get inspiration from great photos for my illos.. one particular drawing was a couple in paris which i saw at flickr first. then i drew it. after a few weeks i was on the same spot taking the same photo only i was in the shot. 8) nice memories.. *sigh*
